Lesser & Pavey are celebrating 50 years in business supplying the giftware trade having started in January 1971 as a traditional china and glassware importer.
“We have come a very long way since the early 70s and are looking forward to the next 50 years with huge optimism and confidence,†said Julian Hunt, Managing Director of Lesser & Pavey.
Julian joined the company in 1993 and took over the reins from Ronnie Pavey in 2000. Ronnie remains as Chairman bringing his 50 years of extensive experience to the business and is actively involved on a daily basis.
Ronnie credits much of the product diversity that now makes up the constantly evolving range of products, to Julian’s stewardship. Lesser & Pavey continue to have their finger on the pulse of what today’s shoppers are looking for in the way of giftware for the home and loved ones.
This is echoed by fellow director Jonny Greves who has partnered Julian on a multitude of buying trips developing new bespoke ranges. The development of new ranges is much assisted by the in-house design team as well as exclusive UK artists.
“It is the quality and craftsmanship of the products that has been consistent over the past 50 years that has made Lesser & Pavey so well known for great selling products, finished to a very high standard whilst always ensuring that they are well priced for the needs of the marketplace,†said Jonny.
“We have faced the challenges of 2020 and approach early 2021 with optimism and enthusiasm, continuing to buy and develop new products at a time when others have sat back and done little or nothing†said Julian. “We’ve brought 1,000s of new products to our customers which have sold fantastically, and we’ve traded extremely well throughout these challenging timesâ€.
The support of existing customers together with vast number of new customers that the company has attracted over the past ten months is a testament to the hard work and innovation of the Lesser & Pavey team.
“With no NEC Spring Fair our showroom is busy with eager customers keen to see the huge variety of new and innovative gifts, home and housewares that we have available for early 2021,†said Jonny. “And for those customers unable to visit in person we offer zoom calls with our sales team or a Virtual Showroom Tour by appointment or access to our ever-improving website to see first-hand our bestselling ranges and fabulous new product launches.â€
And a final word from Julian, “A massive thank you to all our customers for their support over the past 50 years and throughout the pandemic. Rest assured we will continue to work tirelessly to bring you new innovative quality products come what may!â€
The showroom and offices which extend to over 12,000 sq ft are open 7 days a week by appointment and a very warm welcome awaits visiting customers.
