Lisle signs Studio Blom

Lisle Licensing has secured a new client with the signing of the vibrant and eclectic design brand Studio Blom. Collaborating with the successful publisher Pigment, the northern-based brand has seen huge growth of its feel-good eclectic, maximalist greetings card designs.

The success of Studio Blom’s greeting cards range, which currently retails in almost 1,000 independent retailers, as well as Oliver Bonas, Sainsbury’s, Waterstones, WHSmith, Tesco and Morrisons, has paved the way for partnerships which have the potential to grow in line with an impactful licensing programme.

Pigment creative director Martin Powderly said: “Welcome to the colourful, vibrant world that is Studio Blom! We are seeing its outstanding design credentials translating onto many high-quality products at accessible price points for the broadest range of shoppers. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our initial greetings card collection, and have appointed the team at Lisle Licensing to take this brand into many more categories in 2024/25.”

Lisle will broaden Studio Blom’s original greeting card range with stationery lines which include innovative twists on gift presentation as well as vibrant and functional notepads, pens and planners.

“This is such a fun brand to represent with its bold, out-there designs and the team’s constant enthusiasm to innovate as they move into the licensing sector”

Lisle Licensing retail and licensing manager Becky Sherwood

Branching into the lifestyle category, its focus will be targeted towards confectionery, chocolate gifts and baking, kitchenware and homeware, home fragrance and selfcare, plus seasonal gifting, Christmas, and the spring seasons of 2025/26.

Studio Blom said: “Our mission is to bring a little play to the everyday with colourful fun-filled high-quality products that are joyful, thoughtful and functional and, wherever possible, have a secondary use.”

The first licensee to on-board is Widdop and Co. which will work closely with Studio Blom and Lisle Licensing to develop products spanning gifting, dinnerware and drinkware, crafting, home accessories, candles and home fragrance. The first collection will launch from August this year.

Lisle Licensing retail and licensing manager Becky Sherwood said: “This is such a fun brand to represent with its bold, out-there designs and the team’s constant enthusiasm to innovate as they move into the licensing sector. We are delighted to have Widdop and Co. as the first licensee who recognise ‘sentiment’ as a consumer trend that retailers are wanting to embrace. Having Studio Blom join their impressive list of existing licensees is a great starting point for growth in 2024.”
