‘Boutique’ vibe for Scotland’s Trade Fair Autumn

Scotland's trade Fair

Scotland’s Trade Fair Autumn has taken on a ‘boutique’ vibe for 2024, with carefully selected exhibitors showcasing the best products for Scottish buyers. The event will take place at the SEC Centre in Glasgow on August 18 and August 19.

With around 100 exhibitors, there is no better place to source quality Scottish products from discerning Scottish makers. However, the show is not limited to Scotland, and has many innovative brands from all over the UK and beyond.

Almost a third of all the exhibitors are new, with some interesting suppliers coming to Scotland for the first time. Ones to take a peek at include humorous greetings cards supplier Go La La which recently relocated to Scotland; Gold Moss candles from Tain; Charlotte Marlow’s pet and wildlife art, and Gather Homeware’s terrazzo homeware crafted from Jesmonite.

“As the first UK trade show of the autumn, Scotland’s Trade Fair allows buyers to restock after the summer tourist season and plan ahead for Christmas”

Show director Mark Saunders

First stop for many buyers is the Launch Gallery for the youngest companies. This will include Miss Peachy beauty items, Nana Kat’s apothecary delicious skincare, Heather Glen Hounds’ dog products, and Springtide Designs contemporary prints.

For galleries and the more creative outlets, Scotland’s Trade Fair Craft Gallery is a design-led section, with Ella Fletcher Designs’ colourful creative homeware from Midlothian, Alison Haddon’s silver jewellery, Humblewood’s home accessories and many more.

The show gives retailers the opportunity to top up their stock for late summer and autumn, order ranges for Christmas, and get a sneak preview of ideas for 2025.

With a new, user-friendly website, registration has just opened for the show. Exhibitors can be checked out in advance and searched for by category, retail price point, region or sector.

Soni Ahmed, co-owner of award-winning gift shop Maia Gifts in Glasgow, finds the show a vital part of his buying calendar. He said: “Each year Scotland’s Trade Fair becomes more invaluable for us to source locally designed and produced ranges. The show ticks a lot of boxes for us and the variety of products on display is excellent.”

Show director Mark Saunders added: “As the first UK trade show of the autumn, Scotland’s Trade Fair allows buyers to restock after the summer tourist season and plan ahead for Christmas. The relaxed, friendly vibe offers a good day out for retailers, and allows them to hear the backstory and provenance to many of the products – offering a better buying experience.”

With registration now open, make sure you add the dates to your diary now.
