The team behind A Gift From The Gods has created a new brand called Urban Mythology, which will debut at PG Live with its first greeting cards range.
Entitled ‘Rave On’, this 12-card collection licences archive club culture photos from the 1990s by Tony Davis, and overlaps them with neon techno graphics and dance music mottos to create a visually engaging range and instantly compelling heritage range.
The company said: ‘In a world gone mad, the powerful comforts of nostalgia remind us of happier times. From the early days of car convoys to secret locations, to impromptu parties in motorway service stations post-rave, these evocative images will resonate with clubbers old and new, and the amusing mottos will be instantly and fondly understood.
‘The timing is right. We may be older and wiser and, as others reload, we revisit simpler times with today’s increasingly popular day raves. The appetite for such a culturally significant era of British youth culture persists, making this greeting card range commercially strong. Things can only get better but, sometimes, a message from the past is all we need.’
A Gift From The Gods founder Jane Reucroft added: “As a misty-eyed old raver myself, the cards are poignant and funny. What’s funnier? I’m in one of them!”
Sold in packs of six, the 150mm x 150mm square cards are blank inside and made with 300gms FSC card, presented with neon-coloured diamond envelopes. All individual cards and envelopes are packaged in a compostable polybag.
PG Live takes place at the Business Design Centre in London on June 3 and June 4.
