As Langs marks a significant milestone anniversary, design and buying director Jane Bourne reflects on the company’s rich history; the purpose, values and vision that have been part of its journey over the decades; and the exciting future that lies ahead
For 75 years, Langs has been at the forefront of the gift and home décor industry, setting trends with our unique timeless collections. Founded in 1949, Langs has grown from a small family business into a leading supplier, known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service.
The business began in the front room of Mr Richard Lang Senior. It was known as Richard Lang & Son back then, and for many years to follow – only in recent years have we affectionately become known as Langs.
Richard’s son Rolf Lang used to help in the school holidays and took over as a young adult to eventually become managing director and owner, and it developed into a thriving wholesale business.
A management buyout in 2019 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Today the company is headed up by me, Steve, and Keith at the helm.
All of us have a clear vision to strategically navigate the market and continue to deliver high quality products and services. Our wealth of experience, dedication and devotion ensures the Langs name is taken forwards.

What’s new and now
Over the past few months, our design team has been dedicated to creating our brand-new Spring 2025 collection. We’re excited to announce that this stunning collection will be on display for the first time at Home & Gift.
Our latest offerings feature a mix of hand-painted artwork, from fresh spring florals and garden birds to leaping lambs – all of which will help to provide some fresh content for all retail space from the start of the year.
Creating a delightful Easter setting has become very popular in the gift market, and our new Hoppy Days bunny theme incorporates soft pastels, mixed with cute bunnies, toadstools and crochet hanging eggs – combined with floral accents to bring the joy of the spring season to your shop.
For many years, sheep have played a large role in our gift offering, and each year we always update our sheep range. This year we have woolly lambs, all hand-painted to bring a fresh springtime feel to your home. These woolly friends capture the essence of countryside charm and natural beauty.
A captivating blend of hand-painted florals and a thatched cottage are the backdrop to our new Cottage Garden collection. We have some stunning new stoneware tea-light houses – which are all designed in-house – and you will find updates to some of our top-selling giftware lines.
Mum is always one of the top-selling gift lines at the beginning of the year, and the celebration of Mother’s Day takes place in 2025 on Sunday March 30. We have many new gift ideas for this special occasion, which include florals and gifts that don’t necessarily say Mum but make a perfect gift for that special lady.
Discover our etched cut-out floral wood collection, where natural wood meets craftsmanship. Each item features intricate floral patterns, designed to bring a touch of rustic charm: perfect for Mother’s Day or to simply add a touch of nature-inspired beauty to your space.
Stay tuned for more previews of new Spring 2025 collections as we approach the event – this is just a small teaser of what you will see!
More exciting news… in addition to all our brand-new gift and home collections, we will have a brand-new custom-made stand designed to showcase both our latest and beloved existing products at Home & Gift. We are confident that this new presentation will enhance your experience, allowing you to appreciate the beauty, quality and creativity that goes into every piece.
We look forward to welcoming you to our stand (A-A30) at Harrogate for an exciting and inspiring experience. It’s going to be a big 75th birthday celebration for a full 75 days. We’d love you to be part of our family, and we look forward to seeing you all.
