Opticaid are showcase its new contemporary reading glasses at Home & Gift, as well as its bestsellers. This long-established company is known for its own-brand Remaldi readers and sunglasses, featuring quality lenses with modern colour and print.
Director and buyer Gillian Marchbank says: “This autumn there is a continued shift to the environmentally-inspired colours of nature, so more browns, lots of greens (think leaf, sage, khaki), warm reds from ruby to orange such as pumpkin, and misted yellow and purples. We’ve got new reading glasses in all these colours. There is a definite move to mid-tone hues too, and lightly coloured transparent frames are selling well. I think our new range ticks all these trends perfectly.”
The new range of 30-plus reading glasses (many now made from repurposed plastics) complements the brand’s main 2024 collection. So far, popular additions are 1970s-inspired metals such as Arden gold and silver, bold thicker statement frames like Mayfair in transparent ecru and olive, and the geometric frames of Windsor Purple and Faroe Blue. The new reading glasses include a recycled felt slip in case. Opticaid can also supply floor and counter display stands, subject to qualifying quantities.
