Two gift brands join BHETA

New BHETA Members

Gift and housewares brands – Selbrae House and Blisshome – have joined BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association).

Based in Fife, Scotland, Selbrae House was founded in 2006 by Donny Carstairs, working alongside his siblings Emma and Colin. It specialises in creating giftable products which celebrate the natural world. Craft-produced items, made from natural materials such as slate, oak, linen and olive wood are the heart of the collection.

BHETA sector manager for housewares and gift Seema Grantham said: “Selbrae House is an entrepreneurial family business, bringing an appealing combination of beauty and sustainability to both gifting and housewares. I’m delighted to welcome the company to BHETA.”

Blisshome is the brainchild of giftable housewares designer Mike Bliss. He started his original company Woody Enterprises in 1978, creating fabulously quirky items such as wooden postcards, wooden ties, toast clocks (made from real bread), and flower lights, taking the gifting market by storm.

Woody Enterprises eventually morphed into Blisshome which continues to create premium quality items using a mix of materials including ceramic, textile, metal, melamine, and wood.  Often manufactured at the company’s factory in northern Italy, Blisshome has worked with a number of UK celebrities including Prue Leith and Rick Stein.

Seema commented: “Mike and his team have created some of the most iconic designs in housewares over the years. Blisshome continues to combine stylish and innovative ideas with superb manufacturing quality and some great brand associations. It’s brilliant to see the company join BHETA.”
