British Garden Centres opened its first new store out of seven in Gosforth this weekend (February 22-23), with queues of shoppers eager to experience the transformation and see inside the new store, along with hundreds of sign-ups to the group’s Family Card.

The refurbished centre and restaurant were packed with happy customers, signalling a roaring success and a welcome addition to the local community.

Gosforth Garden Centre was officially opened by celebrity gardener David Domoney, who cut the ribbon and gave visitors a talk on all things gardening.

“We’re so excited to be part of the Gosforth community. We’ve worked hard to bring life and enjoyment to the site so that it’s not just a garden centre but a destination for local people”

The new store features gifts, homeware, plants, sundries, garden accessories, and the Fern Living outdoor furniture range, exclusive to British Garden Centres.

Malcolm Buckle, centre manager at Gosforth Garden Centre, said: “We’re so excited to be part of the Gosforth community. We’ve worked hard to bring life and enjoyment to the site so that it’s not just a garden centre but a destination for local people.”
