Gifts Today January 2021 Editiion

Happy New Year from the Gifts Today team. While it may not have been the start to the year we were all hoping for, our industry is nothing if not innovative, adaptable and resilient and we will push on.

The January issue is out now and it is jam packed full of new products and ideas ready for 2021. Top Drawer (page 58) and Spring Fair (page 57) may not be able to operate as usual, but they are both going virtual again this season and we cover their plans in our previews.

Our cover story is with Wax Lyrical (page 16), where we discover the super six new releases they have launched. There is also a bumper feature on candles with a style, size and fragrance sure to appeal to any nose (page 23).

With the environment and sustainability still a top concern for consumers, our Eco Feature looks at ways suppliers are addressing the issue in their manufacturing, materials and packaging (page 44).

We interview some fabulous retailers who share their thoughts on the retail climate at present. Martin Coles-Evans from Hargreaves & Son in Buxton tells of his business which has been in operation since 1865 and in his family for over a century (page 16).

The Gift Fair

While Darrell East from Hawley Garden Centre gives us his perspective of being able to continue trading through the most recent lockdowns (page 36). Plus, we feature two retailers who are finalists in the Good Retail Awards in the Retailers’ Panel.

Our regular features of Trade Talk, New Products and columnists have plenty of tips, advice and insight to share, so check it out now.
