Judging for the 2022 GIMA (Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association) Awards has been completed – and the winners will be announced in October.

More than 200 entries were submitted for 13 product categories, three marketing categories, and the overall Sustainability Award. They were assessed by a panel of eight judges which comprised Will Blake of St Peter’s Garden Centre; David Danning of Blue Diamond Group; Kate Eckley of The Old Railway Line; Neil Grant of Ferndale Garden Centre; Sarah Hayden of John Lewis & Partners; Trevor Pfeiffer of Garden Trade News; Victoria Redshaw of Scarlet Opus; and Chris Moorhouse of Wickes.

Two additional Special Achievement awards, for Export Achievement and Supplier of the Year, will be judged by Gardenex (Federation of Garden & Leisure Manufacturers) and the GCA (Garden Centre Association) respectively.

GIMA director Vicky Nuttall said: “A huge thank you to all our judges for taking the time to be part of the 2022 GIMA Awards. The quality of entries was higher than ever, and I know the judges undertook a lot of very in-depth conversations to ensure that the most deserving winners were selected. I have no doubt that the winners’ roster will be an impressive one come October.

“On behalf of the judges I’d also like to pass on their complements regarding the amount of research and development that is currently shaping our industry. On top of this, the judges would like to congratulate those brands that are working tirelessly to bring sustainable solutions to market and helping to set the standard that other industries strive to achieve.”
