Morleys Department Stores has named Allan Winstanley as its new chief executive. He starts the role in January 2025 and succeeds Nigel Blow, who has been CEO for the past eight years.
Morleys said: “Allan comes back to the UK having worked with Myer department stores in Australia, where he co-led the turnaround of the business. Prior to that, he worked with Sears in the US, De Bijenkorf in the Netherlands, and 10 years with House of Fraser in the UK. He started his career with Marks & Spencer and his previous directorships have been with The British Fashion Council and The UK Fragrance Foundation.”
Established in 1880, Morleys comprises eight independent stores; Morleys Brixton, Morleys Bexleyheath, Morleys Tooting, Elys Wimbledon, Camp Hopson, Pearsons Enfield, Roomes Fashion & Home and James Selbys. Its ultimate aim is to be the leading department store group in the UK.
